Son Heung-min (33), who signed a one-year extension contract with Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League (EPL), was delighted and emphasized responsibility to himself.
"Son Heung-min's contract has been extended until the summer of 2026," Tottenham announced on its website on Sunday (Korea time). "He is a great player who has grown into a world star at Tottenham after joining the team in August 2015.
Son Heung-min, who joined Tottenham in 2015, will be accompanied by Tottenham for 11 years.
"I'm so happy (to extend my one-year contract). I've been so happy for the past 10 years at Tottenham. I'm so proud to be with Tottenham for another year," Son said on social media after the announcement.
Son, who has been captain since last season, has led the team by playing a leading role both on and off the field. Son contributed greatly to Tottenham's fifth-place finish by scoring 17 goals and 10 assists in the league last season.

Son suffered from a hamstring injury in the early days of the season and struggled to recover his condition. Since recovering from injury, Son has been playing steadily, but has had seven goals and six assists in 22 games this season, showing his performance to be less destructive than the previous season.
